Founded in 1981 but officially introduced to traders at the Salone Internationale del Mobile of 1982, Bross already stood out as a young and creative business attentive to the details and quality of its products.
The attention to detail, the choise of quality materials and the love of wood are the special characteristics of the business that was founded to respond to the precise requirements of the early'80s to attain on the aesthetic, functional and innovative levels the extraordinary technical potential that Friuly has always possessed in woodworking.
The initial success of Bross was due to three important names in Italian design : Enrio Arosio, Simonit and Del Piero and Studio Punto, which especially with the "Viana chair" and "Piana table" products have allowed Bross to become known as a business to the public at large.
In the following years, from about 1986, there followed several important collaborations with leading names with innovative products by Paolo Piva, Gerd Lange, Laprell and Althaus, Peter Maly, Mario dall'Orto, Edy Ciani, Ferruccio Laviani, Rodolfo Dordini, Piero Lissoni and Ennio Arosio.
Its geographical connections, in other words the so-called chair triangle, helped to make known its origins and industrial set-up. But there is a very original feature in the route followed by Bross, the business founded in the early'80s with an initial specialisation in seating. There is a close dialogue with the desigh world that on the one hand leads to a drastic increase in the type of production technonogies that today include tables, cupboards, containers and paddings. On the other hand there is the adoption of a modern and stylised language. Ennio Arosio, Enzo Berti and Marco Piva are some of the designes that have worked alongside the business during its development cycle.
Bross is very active in contract business and has undertaken important supplies both to offices and in the marine and hotel spheres. With reference to the latter sector, they collaborate with various chains such as Mariott, Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Radisson, Meridien and the Accor Group.
All of the Bross production is entirely made and certified in Italy in Moimacco (10 km from Udine), in modern premises with technically advanced plant in an area of around 50,000 m2 where chairs, tables and wooden furniture are made in various finishes. |
